How to Live with Your Parents (premiere)

{4/5} “Why don’t you just tell her there’s no Santa?”

Polly breaks up with her husband and shows up unannounced at her parents’ doorstep with her daughter. Her mom and stepdad are happy to have them until they can get back on their feet. Her mom speaks her mind at all times, and her stepdad always agrees with her. Polly’s working at a coffee shop and attempting to get back into dating. Her ex-husband is hanging around and trying to be more responsible than he used to be.

How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life) just premiered yesterday.

It has promise — certainly you could imagine watching the three main actors on a regular basis. It’s up to the writers to take the show to interesting places.

It’s a funny show — in the premiere it’s the mom and stepdad who provide the laughs.

Sarah Chalke (the TV show Scrubs) plays Polly. Elizabeth Perkins (Big) plays her mom and Brad Garrett (the TV show Everybody Loves Raymond) plays her stepdad.

The show was created by Claudia Lonow (the TV show Accidentally On Purpose).
