Wonderful World

{4.5/5} “If you do not have it, it is a treasure.”

Wonderful World, released in 2009

Ben has a proofreading job but used to be a children’s singer. He only sees his daughter Sandra on the weekends. His roommate Ibu beats him at chess every time, and snores every night. Ben has been feeling pessimistic lately. When Ibu goes into a diabetic coma, his sister Khadi comes to visit — and Ben’s feelings for her quickly turn romantic.

It’s about dealing with life when you’ve had a streak of bad luck. Ben has interesting discussions with Ibu, Khadi, and Sandra.

Matthew Broderick is eminently watchable, and I liked this movie a lot.

Stars Matthew Broderick and Jodelle Ferland.
