Twin Peaks season 1, aired in 1990
FBI agent Dale Cooper comes to small town Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of a teenager, Laura Palmer. He finds that the town is full of quirky individuals, and he feels right at home. He works with the local police to figure out what happened to Laura. Meanwhile the townspeople grieve and adjust and love and scheme.
This is a unique show and the first few episodes are very funny. It’s also very strange, but the amazing characters will keep you coming back.
The show has many surprising twists.
Laura (in flashbacks) and her cousin Maddy are played by the same actor, Sheryl Lee.
Stars Kyle MacLachlan and Ray Wise. Created by Mark Frost (writer on Hill Street Blues) and David Lynch (The Straight Story). The eerie music is by Angelo Badalamenti — it’s used too repetitively.

Glad you liked it, Dave! I just watched the Season 1 finale, then had to watch a bit of the next episode… pretty classic Twin Peaks.

I watched some of season 2 but became less and less interested in it and didn’t finish it. Season 2 is much longer than season 1, and I didn’t like how random the fantasy aspects were — compared to, say, the coherent world of “Stranger Things.”
