Tropic Thunder

{5/5} “I don’t read the script. The script reads me.”

Tropic Thunder, released in 2008

Famous actors Kirk Lazarus, Tugg Speedman,  and Jeff Portnoy are in Vietnam filming a war movie. Their director has been blown up, but most of them think that was a special effect. They’re deep in the jungle with real Vietnamese gang on their trail — and they think they’re making a movie.

Of all the funny characters Tom Cruise’s part of producer Les Grossman is the funniest. Cruise plays a part that’s very different from his usual ones, and his dance moves will amaze you.

It’s ridiculous, but as long as you’re not easily offended I think you’ll find it very funny.

It’s about people who make things up for a living, and the people around them.

Stars Robert Downey, Jr., Ben Stiller, and Jack Black. It also features Jay Baruchel, Nick Nolte, and Matthew McConaughey. Directed by Ben Stiller (The Secret Life of Walter Mitty). The soundtrack is populated by terrific 1960s songs.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it.
