Timeless (season 1)

{4.5/5} “Before the time machine my worst fear was losing them. Now it’s that I could lose them and not know they were ever here.”

Timeless season 1, aired in 2016-17

A terrorist named Garcia Flynn steals a newly built time machine. When the US government finds out it sends 3 people in the backup machine to stop him — a history professor, a soldier, and one of the people who worked on the machine. They’re going back to 1937, right before the Hindenburg explosion. What is Flynn up to, and what’s his connection to the professor?

The time travellers visit Abraham Lincoln on the day of his assassination, NASA on the day of the Apollo 11 moon landing, and George Washington on the day that Benedict Arnold betrays him.

You have to accept that the main characters are going to fail in their mission every single episode. If you can accept that, you’ll find it’s an enjoyable show — with some interesting historical figures and moral quandaries.

They kicked things up a notch in the fall finale as well as the season finale.

Stars Goran Visnjic and Abigail Spencer.

Matt Frewer guest stars as the man who invented the time machine.

Created by Eric Kripke (Revolution) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield).

It’s not known yet whether there will be a season 2.
