A warning to humanity

More than 15 000 scientists from 184 countries have signed a document issuing a warning to humanity about the environment. Included are points about a decline in freshwater, dwindling biodiversity, and population growth. Here’s how CBC covered the story:

We’ve seen before with CFCs and land mines that the world can work together to solve important issues. The issues in this document are ones the world should be working together on — the world should ignore the fact that the current US president doesn’t want to work on them.

One of the reasons we haven’t made as much progress as we should have is the war on expertise. But we should ignore those people and forge ahead.
