Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

{4/5} “‘You weren’t kidding. You are in the CIA.’ ‘Somebody has to be.'”

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, released in 2014

Jack Ryan is a financial analyst who secretly works for the CIA. When he discovers a Russian plot to devastate the US economy he flies to Moscow to do whatever he can to stop it. His girlfriend Cathy follows him to Moscow and he unwillingly includes her in his plan. I liked the action and suspense aspects but I found a few parts confusing. Chris Pine as Jack and Kevin Costner as his handler were fine, but I found Keira Knightley as an American and Kenneth Branagh as a Russian both distracting. Directed by Kenneth Branagh (Dead Again).
