This is a retelling of the “Sleeping Beauty” story. Maleficent is a fairy and Stefan is a human — although they come from different worlds, they fall in love. But then Stefan betrays her horribly. Later when Stefan is king and has a baby daughter, Aurora, Maleficent curses Aurora to fall into a permanent sleep on her sixteenth birthday. Will she live to regret her curse? The fascinating character of Maleficent and her portrayal by Angelina Jolie are the top reasons for watching this movie. Jolie is obviously having lots of fun. Elle Fanning plays Aurora.
