The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
{4/5} “I know that dwarves can be obstinate and pigheaded and difficult. They’re suspicious and secretive, with the worst manners you can possibly imagine. But they are also brave and kind, and loyal to a fault. I’ve grown very fond of them, and I would save them if I can.”
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, released in 2014
Smaug the dragon has woken up and he’s ready to burn down the nearest town. Meanwhile Thorin has become over-fond of the mountain of gold he’s now sitting on. Unbeknownst to him, an army of orcs is heading his way. This is the conclusion to the trilogy. It’s visually stunning, of course. There’s lots of action, a bit of romance, and some setting things up for The Lord of the Rings. There’s quite a bit of fighting, as the subtitle suggests. Ian McKellen and Evangeline Lilly star.
Directed by Peter Jackson (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug).
