The Signal

{3.5/5} “What I’m about to tell you, Nick, you may find a bit disturbing.”

The Signal, released in 2014

Nic and Jonah are helping their friend Haley move across the country. While they’re on the road they notice that a hacker has gotten into their computer. They — capable of hacking, themselves — trace the hacker, and decide to take a side trip to confront them. The hacker turns out to be something very different than they expect — an alien.

I like the characters. It has some interesting ideas, but it doesn’t quite add up to a great movie. It’s about perseverance, technology, and truth. Science fiction fans willing to be patient may want to check it out.

Stars Laurence Fishburne.

Directed by William Eubank (Underwater).
