Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

{4/5} “I thought she was with you.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, released in 2016

Batman and Superman have been noticing each other’s exploits, and they each see the flaws in the other. When Lex Luthor gets his hands on some Kryptonite, Bruce Wayne decides to steal it. Meanwhile, Lex has also gotten his hands on the Kryptonian ship — who knows what he will find in there.

This is the 2nd movie in DC’s extended universe, after Man of Steel.

I felt about the same way about this movie as I did about The Dark Knight Rises. There were lots of great things — but also some not-so-great things.

Although it’s fairly long it goes at breakneck pace, and there are a few things that go by so fast I was left confused.

There’s a part at the end that I didn’t particularly care for.*

The ratio of fighting to interesting stuff is quite high. If you’re looking for guys punching each other and explosions, this is the movie for you.

It’s a pretty serious movie — unlike the Marvel movies, there aren’t a lot of laughs.

As for all the people who were worried about Ben Affleck playing Batman? I’m not sure what they were worried about — he does a fine job.

Stars Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot. Directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel).

What would the combination of the music of Man of Steel and Mad Max: Fury Road be like? That’s what you get in this soundtrack fram Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL.

Spoiler alert

*It’s pointless to spend so much time on Superman’s death, because we know he’s not really dead. It’s fine for Superman to die and come back to life later but we shouldn’t spend so much time on his funeral as if we should be sad about it.
