Spider-Man: Homecoming

{5/5} “Can you summon an army of spiders?”

Spider-Man: Homecoming, released in 2017

Peter Parker is foiling local bad guys as Spider-Man but he’s eagerly awaiting a call from Tony Stark. Then he comes across some guys who have stolen some alien technology, including the leader who’s built himself a pair of wings that lets him fly. Peter tries to tell Tony about these guys but he won’t listen. He’ll just have to take care of them himself.

This movie is absolutely delightful from start to finish. Even though I didn’t see the previous 2 Spider-Man movies, after seeing Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War I knew I would watch this one.

Tom Holland is thrilling as Peter Parker / Spider-Man. I’m sure we’ll be seeing more of him, in and out of superhero movies.

Michael Keaton as Vulture is one of the best superhero movie villains ever. He’s smart, he has motivation, and he has that Michael Keaton swagger.

Hannibal Buress is hilarious as a gym teacher. And it’s always great to see Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark.

Stars Marisa Tomei and Zendaya. Directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car). Michael Giacchino’s music is superb.

The last Marvel movie I reviewed was Doctor Strange. The last Spider-Man movie I reviewed was Spider-Man 2.
