Coco

{4.5/5} “I thought it might have been one of those made-up things that adults tell kids, like vitamins.”

Coco, released in 2017

Miguel’s family makes shoes but all he wants to do is play music. Unfortunately the one thing his family forbids is music, so he does it in secret. Then he finds out that his great great grandfather is Ernesto de la Cruz, his favourite musician. Ernesto always said, “Seize your moment!” so Miguel intends to do so.

This is Pixar’s latest animated movie, and it’s delightful.

It’s about family and music. The songs are beautiful.

Directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) and Adrian Molina (story artist on Monsters University). The Mexican flavoured music is by Michael Giacchino.
