Movies I didn’t finish

There are lots of movies I didn’t finish, but here are some of them, to give you an idea of the kind of movies I’m not particularly interested in. I watched half an hour to an hour of most of these before giving up. In the old days I would watch a movie all the way through but these days I stop if it’s not doing it for me.

  • After Hours
    • OK at first, but then bad things keep happening over and over.
  • Before I Fall
    • I didn’t find it interesting.
  • The BFG
    • It wasn’t for me.
  • The Box
    • It didn’t grab me.
  • Bright
    • Not very interesting.
  • Colossal
    • It took a dark turn and I lost interest.
  • Criminal
    • It didn’t grab me.
  • Despicable Me 3
    • Despite my enjoyment of the 1st 2 movies, this one was boring.
  • Duplex
    • Bad things keep happening over and over.
  • Early Man
    • Unfunny and uninteresting.
  • Evil Roy Slade
    • Very silly.
  • Ferdinand
    • Just for kids.
  • The Fifth Wave
    • It didn’t grab me.
  • Ghostbusters (2016)
    • Mildly amusing at best, some aspects of it were distasteful.
  • The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
    • Too disturbing for me.
  • The Gods Must Be Crazy
    • Not funny at all.
  • It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World
    • Unfunny.
  • The Long Kiss Goodnight
    • It was basically The Bourne Identity but less interesting.
  • Murder on the Orient Express (1974)
    • I didn’t care who the murderer was.
  • Ronin
    • It didn’t grab me.
  • A Simple Plan
    • I could see where it was going, and I didn’t want to go there.
  • Sin City
    • Senseless violence.
  • The Space Between Us
    • It was strangely boring.
  • Suicide Squad
    • Interesting premise but the story is not.
  • Thoroughbreds
    • I stopped when the main characters were going to be violent towards Anton Yelchin’s character.
  • Timecrimes
    • The protagonist was too stupid.
  • Tomb Raider
    • It was strangely boring.
  • The Two Faces of January
    • It didn’t grab me.
  • Upstream Color
    • It didn’t grab me.

Upgrade — the first part wasn’t grabbing me as much as I wanted it to, and when a very gruesome scene came up I stopped watching.

  2. Dave Switzer Says:

Dark Phoenix — Even though I like these characters a lot, the first part of this movie wasn’t very interesting. I stopped watching when she killed you-know-who.

  3. Dave Switzer Says:

Abominable — The storyline is predictable and the magic system is random.

  4. Dave Switzer Says:

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot — Kevin Smith has directed some provocative and funny movies in the past, but this one is just boring.

  5. Dave Switzer Says:

The Bad Guys — It seems OK, but wasn’t as funny as I wanted it to be.

  6. Dave Switzer Says:

Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood — It’s about life as a kid in the 60s. It’s not bad, but it didn’t really grab me.

  7. Dave Switzer Says:

Triangle (2009) — This movie is aggressively uninteresting.

  8. Dave Switzer Says:

Archive — It’s not filmed in a way that’s particularly interesting, and the main actor doesn’t have what it takes to carry most of a movie as the only human character.

  9. Dave Switzer Says:

Simulant — The beginning isn’t very interesting — there’s nothing to distinguish it from other movies.

  10. Dave Switzer Says:

Kingsman: The Secret Service — When the young woman died during training, that was a bit much for me.

  11. Dave Switzer Says:

Heart of Stone — This movie is boring.

  12. Dave Switzer Says:

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom — I didn’t really care about what was happening.

  13. Dave Switzer Says:

Poor Things — Lots of people like this one, but it wasn’t for me.

Wonderwell — I’m not sure who this movie is for, but it’s not me.
