Captain Marvel
{4.5/5} “You know anything about a lady blowing up a Blockbuster? Witnesses say she was dressed for laser tag.”
Captain Marvel, released in 2019
Vers is a Kree soldier, dedicated to serving her commander and Supreme Intelligence, the AI that rules their society. She doesn’t have any memory before 6 years ago, though. When she unexpectedly lands on Earth, she finds out that’s where she’s from — and a lot of things aren’t as they seem.
There a few confusing moments, but other than that I liked it a lot.
The intersection with what we already know about Nick Fury and Phil Coulson was brilliant.
It’s fabulous that Samuel L. Jackson has such a large part in this movie. Clark Gregg, Djimon Hounsou, and Lee Pace also reprise their roles from previous movies.
Stars Brie Larson, Jude Law, and Annette Bening. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (It’s Kind of a Funny Story). The exciting music is by Pinar Toprak.
Captain Marvel will, of course, return in Avengers: Endgame.
The previous movie in the MCU is Ant-Man and the Wasp.
