Harlan Thrombey is dead, and the police are trying to determine whether it was suicide or murder. Harlan was a wealthy author, and had just withdrawn his support from family members in various ways. The police, along with detective Benoit Blanc, interview the family members but all of them lie. They all secretly have motive.

Some scenes are shown from different points of view, to good effect. There are some very funny parts.

It’s a thrillingly delightful mystery.

M. Emmet Walsh, K Callan, Riki Lindhome, and Frank Oz have small roles.

Stars Christopher Plummer, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Chris Evans, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, and Ana de Armas. Directed by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi). The playful music is by Nathan Johnson.
