To Each This World

{4.5/5} “What if the Kmet hadn’t failed at all? What if they had, in missing something so fundamental about the other species, kmeth hadn’t recognized it needed explaining? Henry gritted his teeth in frustration. But what?

To Each This World by Julie E. Czerneda, published in 2022

Aliens, the Kmet, had appeared above New Earth some time ago — but they stayed above and never came down to the planet. Henry was Arbiter, the human liaison to the Kmet. When a probe arrives from a sleeper ship New Earth sent out centuries ago, Henry wants to use the Kmet’s Portal to investigate. But the Kmet don’t believe New Earth ever had the ability to send out ships, and convincing them might be difficult.

If you haven’t read any of Czerneda’s books you could start with this one, a standalone.

All science fiction fans will want to read this novel, with its imaginative situations and memorable characters.

It’s about communicating with beings for years who are so different you might not understand them.

This is the 13th novel of Czerneda’s I’ve read. I previously reviewed A Play of Shadow.
