National Treasure
{4.5/5} “If you wanted to leave me behind, you shouldn’t have told me where you were going.”
National Treasure, released in 2004
Ben’s family has been in the possession of a secret for a long time — there’s a huge treasure hidden somewhere in America. His pursuit of the clues led him to a ship in the Arctic, which led him to the Declaration of Independence. Specifically, there’s an invisible map on the back of it. His financier turned against him, and is going to steal the Declaration. But Ben is going to steal it first.
It’s a fun adventure. It’s about using your smarts to follow the clues.
The concept is very tantalizing, and the execution delivers the excitement you want.
Christopher Plummer has a small part as Ben’s grandfather.
Stars Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Sean Bean, Jon Voight, and Harvey Keitel. Directed by Jon Turteltaub (While You Were Sleeping). The terrific music is by Trevor Rabin.
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve seen it.
