Die Another Day<\/strong>, released in 2002<\/p>\n James Bond is captured in North Korea and 14 months later is exchanged for a dangerous terrorist named Zao. The British secret service, including M, can no longer trust Bond and are sending him for evaluation — so Bond escapes. He uses his contacts to track down Zao, who happens to be in Cuba — where he meets a woman named Jinx.<\/p>\n This could have been a great Bond movie with a different director — Lee Tamahori was just a bit out of control. Cutting out some over the top scenes, like the kite surfing and the invisible car, would be a good start.<\/p>\n As it is, there’s lots to like. Halle Berry’s Jinx is one of the most interesting characters in the whole series.<\/p>\n One of my favourite parts is the secret meeting between Bond and M in the abandoned subway tunnel.<\/p>\n Some scenes were filmed in Iceland, Spain, and the waters of Hawaii.<\/p>\n This is the last Bond film in the original continuity. You can see from the gadgets in Q’s office that this Bond is the same as the one played by Connery (and Lazenby and Moore and Dalton).<\/p>\n This is the 2nd and final appearance of John Cleese as Q’s successor (known as R in the last movie and Q in this one).<\/p>\n Stars Pierce Brosnan and Rosamund Pike. Directed by Lee Tamahori (Next<\/strong><\/a>). The music by David Arnold is great but I don’t really like the title song by Madonna.<\/p>\n This is the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve seen it.<\/p>\n
