He eventually finds out his name is John Murdoch, he has a wife, and the police think he murdered six women. He doesn’t think he would have killed anyone, but he doesn’t really know. Then he runs into the people in charge, the bald men in long black coats — but it turns out they’re not people at all.

This is one of my favourite movies, and is always worth watching. There’s nothing quite like it.

It’s visually stunning, and has an eerie feel. It’s about memory, personality, and the nature of reality.

Like Edge of Tomorrow, there’s one aspect that isn’t explained satisfactorily — in this case, John’s ability to tune. But if you can accept that, you’ll be treated to a brilliant film.

The first time I saw this movie I didn’t know that automats existed in real life — I thought they were an invention of the filmmakers.

I’m not sure why Rufus Sewell didn’t become a bigger name, as he did a splendid job as the main character in this movie.

Stars Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt, and Kiefer Sutherland.
