The Lego Batman Movie<\/strong>, released in 2017<\/p>\n

Batman defeats his enemies because he’s always one step ahead. He has the admiration of everyone in Gotham City. But at home he’s lonely. When the Joker surrenders, and forces all the other villains to surrender, Batman doesn’t know what to do with his life. Then an orphan named Dick Grayson comes along.<\/p>\n

This is a spinoff of The Lego Movie<\/strong><\/a>. As in that movie, they do a great job of making use of the fact that everything looks like Lego.<\/p>\n

It’s exciting and clever. It’s also hilarious. There are fun references to other Batman<\/strong> movies, as well as Gremlins<\/strong>, The Lord of the Rings<\/strong>, The Wizard of Oz<\/strong>, and King Kong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Amidst all the wackiness there’s a nice message about family.<\/p>\n

Stars the voices of Will Arnett, Michael Cera, and Ralph Fiennes. Directed by Chris McKay (Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III<\/strong>). The delightful music is by Lorne Balfe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
