Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams<\/strong> season 1, aired in 2017-18<\/p>\n In “The Hood Maker” telepaths can read anyone — until someone creates a hood that blocks them from doing so. In “The Commuter” a train station attendant is visited by a woman who wants to go to Macon Heights — a stop that doesn’t exist. In “Real Life” a man dreams he’s a female police officer in the future — or is a woman dreaming that she’s a man who’s lost his wife?<\/p>\n This is an anthology show — each episode is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. This season consists of 10 episodes.<\/p>\n It’s about what’s real and what’s not — virtual reality, androids, impossible people, and impossible places. It’s about temptation — people who succumb and people who resist.<\/p>\n The production values are terrific — each episode creates a distinct world. Many of these futures are scary.<\/p>\n “The Commuter” and “Autofac” are the best episodes, and most of the rest are great. A couple have odd endings.<\/p>\n There are some big-name stars including Steve Buscemi, Anna Paquin, Timothy Spall, and Vera Farmiga.<\/p>\n Developed by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica<\/strong>) and Michael Dinner (director on The Wonder Years<\/strong>).<\/p>\n Dick wrote lots of stories, so they could easily do a 2nd season.
