In utter frustration, she rents 3 billboards that highlight the fact that the police, and specifically Chief Willoughby, haven’t arrested anyone. She even gets on the news — of course, many people in town think she’s gone too far.<\/p>\n The focus is on three characters in pain — one who lost her daughter, one who has cancer, and one who lost his father. It’s pretty serious, although it has some funny moments.<\/p>\n It’s about people who are so sad and angry that they’re ready to take extreme measures. It’s also about forgiveness and redemption.<\/p>\n Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, and Sam Rockwell are all astonishing.<\/p>\n Directed by Martin McDonagh (Seven Psychopaths<\/strong>).
