Through the centuries he’s done many things in many places. He even once fell in love, and he’s still searching for his daughter Marion. Other than the hope of finding her he’s a bit tired of living so long. He wants a normal life, so he gets a job as a history teacher in London.

The chapters switch among time periods, taking you all the way back to when he thought he was normal.

It’s about Tom’s relationships with Shakespeare, his beloved Rose, the Albatross Society, and his students. It’s about how to live your life.

It has a similar feel to The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August.

There was one moment near the end that didn’t feel quite right — other than that, I loved it.

This is the 1st book by Haig I’ve read, and I’m interested in reading more.

{5/5} “For years now I had convinced myself that the sadness of the memories weighed more and lasted longer than the moments of happiness themselves.
