He must go to Romulus, quite outside the law &#8212; and alone.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Star Trek: Vulcan&#8217;s Heart<\/strong> by Josepha Sherman &amp; Susan Shwartz, published in 1999<\/p>\n<p>Spock and Saavik are betrothed. Spock&#8217;s work as an ambassador has been satisfying, but he hasn&#8217;t persuaded the powers that be that Vulcans and Romulans should explore reunification. Then he receives an urgent message from Romulan Commander Charvanek, and he decides he must go to Romulus himself.<\/p>\n<p>This book and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2018\/05\/star-trek-vulcans-forge\/\"><strong>Vulcan&#8217;s Forge<\/strong><\/a> take place between when we see Spock in <strong>Star Trek VI<\/strong> and <strong>The Next Generation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The books are written with great care for the characters, particularly Spock. Other important characters include Sarek, Captain Picard of the Stargazer, Captain Garrett of the Enterprise C, and Tasha Yar from an alternate universe.<\/p>\n<p>The events of the story include the battle at Narendra III and Spock&#8217;s wedding.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 2nd time I&#8217;ve read it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{5\/5} &#8220;Spock let out his breath in a silent sigh.
