Cavalcade<\/strong> by Alison Sinclair, published in 1998<\/p>\n Aliens came to Earth and delivered a brief message: anyone who wanted to come aboard their ship could do so. Now the people are on the ship, wondering when they’ll meet the aliens — and wondering why they lost two and a half hours. There’s a young artist who’s pregnant, a woman with medical training who brought her cat, an older blind woman, 10 people from the army, and a man from NASA.<\/p>\n I love the premise, and the interesting characters and situations kept me reading.<\/p>\n It’s about dealing with strangely reticent aliens. It’s about figuring out how to do science, morals, and politics in a new situation.<\/p>\n This is the 2nd book by Sinclair I’ve read.
