Cloud Atlas<\/strong>, released in 2012<\/p>\n In 1849 an escaped slave stows away on a boat, revealing himself to a lawyer who he believes is a good man — unbeknownst to the lawyer, his doctor is trying to kill him to get his money. In 1973 a journalist comes across evidence that someone is going to create a nuclear reactor disaster — she soon has people trying to kill her. In 2144 a clone who works in a restaurant is introduced to radical ideas about what she should be allowed to do — she escapes from the restaurant but authorities won’t rest until they capture her. <\/p>\n This movie goes back and forth between several storylines — it might be a bit confusing at first, but stick with it.<\/p>\n A bunch of actors play different roles in different storylines. The connections between the storylines are subtle.<\/p>\n It’s about freedom. I liked it even more this time.<\/p>\n Stars Tom Hanks and Halle Berry. Directed by Tim Tykwer (A Hologram for the King<\/strong><\/a>) and the Wachowskis (the TV show Sense8<\/strong><\/a>). The music by Reinhold Heil, Johnny Klimek, and Tom Tykwer builds to a glorious finale.<\/p>\n
