He&#8217;s called to the Louvre where a murder has taken place. The man who was murdered left a cryptic message in his own blood &#8212; including Langdon&#8217;s name. Langdon and Sophie Neveu, a police officer who happens to be the murdered man&#8217;s granddaughter, must evade misinformed police and dangerous fanatics as they decipher clues regarding a secret that if revealed might devastate the church.<\/p>\n<p>The first time I saw this movie it reminded me of the book. This time it reminded me how much better the book is.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not a bad movie, but it&#8217;s not thrilling in the same way that the book is. The ultimate surprise is difficult to believe if you just watch the movie, whereas in the book it&#8217;s explained in such a way that you&#8217;ll wonder if it&#8217;s actually true in real life.<\/p>\n<p>As with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2017\/01\/inferno\/\"><strong>Inferno<\/strong><\/a>, it&#8217;s missing a little something. Even though it&#8217;s a long movie, perhaps it needed to be longer to incorporate more details from the book.<\/p>\n<p>The parts where they&#8217;re running around being chased are easy to show on the screen. The parts where they&#8217;re solving puzzles and learning about a secret history are a bit trickier.<\/p>\n<p>Stars Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, and Ian McKellen. Directed by Ron Howard (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2018\/06\/solo-a-star-wars-story\/\"><strong>Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/strong><\/a>).
