Kirk is on a training cruise on the Enterprise when he gets a puzzling message from Carol Marcus, in charge of the Genesis Project. Genesis is a method of turning a lifeless planetoid into a paradise. When the Enterprise arrives at the space station they discover that Khan Noonien Singh has made his way off Ceti Alpha V and is bent on revenge on the man who marooned him there &#8212; Kirk.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s about growing older, and facing a no-win scenario.<\/p>\n<p>One more quotation: &#8220;Commanding a starship is your first, best destiny.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Although the premise is less interesting than the previous movie, the execution is much better &#8212; it&#8217;s much more gripping, and we care about what happens to the characters.<\/p>\n<p>I could have done without the extra militaristic touches added, and the closeups of Chekov&#8217;s ears &#8212; other than that, I love this movie.<\/p>\n<p>Stars Walter Koenig, Ricardo Montalban, Kirstie Alley, Paul Winfield, and Bibi Besch. Directed by Nicholas Meyer (writer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2016\/07\/sommersby\/\"><strong>Sommersby<\/strong><\/a>). The music by James Horner is outstanding, particularly &#8220;Spock.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is the 5th or 6th time I&#8217;ve seen it.
