The Man Who Killed Don Quixote<\/strong>, released in 2018<\/p>\n Toby is directing a movie about Don Quixote in Spain. When he returns to the village where he made a student film years ago, he finds he had a much greater impact on the village than he imagined. The man who played Quixote in his first film now really believes he is Don Quixote.<\/p>\n Terry Gilliam has been trying to get this movie made for many years, one attempt being chronicled in Lost in La Mancha<\/strong>.<\/p>\n There are some nice looking scenes — it was filmed in Spain and Portugal. Unfortunately this is his least interesting movie since The Brothers Grimm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The actors are fine, of course — it’s the story that just doesn’t grab you as much as you’d like it to. There are too many scenes of the two main characters bickering and nothing happening. And too many things that don’t make sense.<\/p>\n In Gilliam’s other episodic movies like The Adventures of Baron Munchausen<\/strong> and Time Bandits<\/strong> there are funny parts — but there’s nothing funny here.<\/p>\n
