He also continues his work as the Overseer, taking down bad guys. He&#8217;s on the lookout for someone who kidnapped several girls, and then finds him. It turns out it&#8217;s Kevin Wendell Crumb, the man with 24 identities. David and Kevin are captured by police, and taken to a psychiatric hospital where Dr. Ellie Staple tries to convince them they&#8217;re not really superhuman.<\/p>\n<p>This is the sequel to both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2019\/07\/unbreakable\/\"><strong>Unbreakable<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/split\/\"><strong>Split<\/strong><\/a>. We didn&#8217;t know those two movies were in the same universe until the last few seconds of <strong>Split<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The ending (yes, there&#8217;s a twist) is terrific.<\/p>\n<p>I like the general shape of the story. There are some good parts, and some muddled parts. This is the <strong>Dark Knight Rises<\/strong> of the trilogy &#8212; not quite as good as the others but still worth watching. Shyamalan&#8217;s original cut was three and a half hours &#8212; I would like to see that version.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was nice to see Spencer Treat Clark back as Joseph, Charlayne Woodard as Elijah&#8217;s mother, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey.<\/p>\n<p>Stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, James McAvoy, and Sarah Paulson. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (<strong>Unbreakable<\/strong>).
