Brave<\/strong>, released in 2012<\/p>\n

Merida is a princess. Her mother is constantly teaching her about what a proper princess does, but she’d rather be out riding her horse and shooting arrows. When the time comes for the clans to present their suitors for Merida’s hand in marriage, she is having none of it. She competes in the contest herself, and then runs away from her mother’s wrath.<\/p>\n

Merida is an instantly likeable character. King Fergus and Merida’s 3 brothers are screamingly funny.<\/p>\n

It has a similar tone to How to Train Your Dragon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It’s about mending the bond torn by pride.<\/p>\n

Stars the voices of Kelly Macdonald and Emma Thompson. Directed by Mark Andrews (storyboard artist on Spider-Man<\/strong><\/a>), Brenda Chapman (The Prince of Egypt<\/strong>), and Steve Purcell (writer on Cars<\/strong>). The glorious music is by Patrick Doyle.<\/p>\n
