It&#8217;s just&#8230; people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker<\/strong>, released in 2019<\/p>\n<p>The Rebellion has enough trouble with the First Order, and now it looks like Emperor Palpatine has survived and secretly built a fleet of ships. Rey has been training with Leia, but she doesn&#8217;t think she deserves Luke&#8217;s lightsaber yet. Rey and Kylo Ren still feel a connection to each other, even though they&#8217;re on opposite sides. Both of them want to find Palpatine.<\/p>\n<p>This is the sequel to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2018\/01\/star-wars-the-last-jedi\/\"><strong>Star Wars: The Last Jedi<\/strong><\/a> and the 9th and final movie in the Skywalker saga.<\/p>\n<p>Although there were lots of things to like, I was slightly less enthused about the overall story &#8212; I felt the same way about the recent DC crossover &#8220;Crisis on Infinite Earths&#8221; shows.<\/p>\n<p>There are some visually stunning parts, some funny parts, and some confusing parts. It would have been less clunky if the directors of the sequel trilogy had agreed on a storyline.<\/p>\n<p>It certainly is not a bad movie, and deserves credit for bringing a satisfying end to the saga.<\/p>\n<p>Stars Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, and Ian McDiarmid. Directed by J. J. Abrams (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/mission-impossible-iii\/\"><strong>Mission: Impossible III<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>John Williams astonishingly composed the music for all 9 movies in the saga. A highlight of this score was the version of &#8220;The Imperial March&#8221; when Rey was in the old Death Star. Williams also resurrects his glorious theme for the Emperor.<\/p>\n<p>The previous movie in the <strong>Star Wars<\/strong> universe is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2018\/06\/solo-a-star-wars-story\/\"><strong>Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/strong><\/a>,<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{4\/5} &#8220;It&#8217;s not a navy.
