At that time he thought that Starfleet wasn’t responding properly to the plight of the Romulan people. Now he’s visited by an android, reminding him of his old friend Data, who is being hunted by unknown assassins. He vows to get to the bottom of it, but he’ll need some help.

Patrick Stewart returning to the role of Jean-Luc Picard is unbelievably amazing. Stewart is an incredible actor, Picard is one of my heroes, and Star Trek: The Next Generation is my all-time favourite TV show.

The show takes place a couple of decades since the last time we saw the Next Generation crew, in Star Trek: Nemesis. It functions as a sequel to The Next Generation, and assumes you know some things from that show.

There are only 10 episodes — a tragically short season for such a thrilling show.

My favourite character, aside from the obvious, is Kestra, Will and Deanna’s daughter — she’s smart, playful, and full of joy for life.

The ongoing story turned out to be a bit odd, but every episode was glorious (I felt the same way about some seasons of Angel). There are a few little things here and there that are confusing, and you may or may not be willing to fill in the gaps.

Guest stars include Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Jeri Ryan, and Jonathan Del Arco all playing their established Star Trek characters.

Stars Allison Pill, Isa Briones, and Harry Treadaway.

Jeff Russo’s theme is superb.

Created by Akiva Goldsman (writer on The Da Vinci Code), Michael Chabon (writer on Spider-man 2), Kirsten Beyer (writer on Star Trek: Discovery), and Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek: Discovery).

{5/5} “People in the synthetic humanoid field tend to get a little… secret planny.” Star Trek: Picard season 1, aired in 2020 Jean-Luc Picard lives on the family farm in France, having left Starfleet years ago.
