That he should also be the man credited with finding the most sophisticated and powerful time-travel apparatus in history had made him the bane of DTI&#8217;s existence since its inception shortly thereafter.&#8221; (from &#8220;Almost&#8230; But Not Quite&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Star Trek: Strange New Worlds II<\/strong> edited by Dean Wesley Smith, published in 1999<\/p>\n<p>In &#8220;Triptych&#8221; after Captain Kirk and the others fail to return from the Guardian of Forever, Uhura must go through and attempt to save them all. In &#8220;The First Law of Metaphysics&#8221; after Kirk&#8217;s death Spock returns to Vulcan to see Saavik and to help a young girl with her first mind meld. In &#8220;A Ribbon for Rosie&#8221; Anika Hansen and her parents are visited by a silver clad woman from the future who warns them not to go to the Delta Quadrant.<\/p>\n<p>On the whole it&#8217;s not quite as brilliant as the previous entry in the series, but this anthology offers great stories for fans of the 1st 4 <strong>Star Trek<\/strong> series. Two of the stories feature Dulmer and Lucsly, from the Department of Temporal Investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Authors Dayton Ward, Ilsa J. Bick, William Leisner, and Kathy Oltion went on to publish <strong>Star Trek<\/strong> novels.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 2nd time I&#8217;ve read it.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve read 6 novels by Smith plus 3 anthologies he edited.
