Captain Picard and the I.S.S. Stargazer are escorting ships of Vulcan slaves. When the Vulcans try to take control of 2 of the ships, Lieutenant Yar destroys them. Lieutenant Barclay thinks Yar’s action was foolhardy, and he means to do something about it.

It’s always fun to spend a bit of time in the mirror universe, where ruthless versions of our favourite characters exist in a timeline that has gone very differently. This universe was introduced in the TOS episode “Mirror, Mirror.”

The storyline comes to a semi-conclusion but further adventures could be on the way.

Leah Brahms, Captain Jellico, and Guinan all show up. In the 2nd volume the most astonishing guest star shows up.* Dr. Selar gets a terrific storyline.

The art by J. K. Woodward is a bit different but interesting — more like a painting. The rest of the art by various artists such as Tony Shasteen and Angel Hernandez is more like “standard comic book art” but it’s quite good.

I’ve read 13 or 14 graphic novels by Scott & David Tipton.
