Her sister Jo wants to be a writer, but will dance if the occasion permits. Amy wants to go to Paris and become an artist. Beth, a talented pianist, just wants the family to be together &#8212; including their father who has joined the Union army. The girls perform plays that Jo writes. When their mother asks her girls to donate their Christmas breakfast to a poor family nearby, they agree.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a flashforward at the beginning that will make you think you&#8217;ve dropped into the middle of the story &#8212; keep watching.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s about sisters who are all different but what they have in common is each other. The dialogue amongst the sisters is delightful.<\/p>\n<p>I like when Laurie offers Jo his arm &#8212; instead of taking it, Jo punches him and takes Meg&#8217;s arm. The conversation Jo has with her mother about anger is astonishing.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a beautiful story, filmed beautifully.<\/p>\n<p>Saoirse Ronan is mesmerizing, as always &#8212; here she heads a fabulous cast.<\/p>\n<p>Stars Emma Watson, Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, Laura Dern, Chris Cooper, and Meryl Streep. Directed by Greta Gerwig (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2018\/03\/lady-bird\/\"><strong>Lady Bird<\/strong><\/a>).
