Captain Chakotay asks for suggestions for where they should go next, and Lieutenant Kim reveals that over the years he made a study of the data from the spatial distortion that turned Voyager inside out. He reveals that it contains a distress call and coordinates. What they find at those coordinates is a cloaked area of space.

Captain Picard, Admiral Akaar, Admiral Montgomery, and Julia Paris show up in this one.

A couple more new characters are worth noting: Decan, a Vulcan who was and is again Janeway’s aide. And Nancy Conlon, Voyager’s chief engineer who is dating Harry.

It’s about incomprehensible beings, letting go, and making new friends.

Although part of the story comes to a conclusion, much of the storyline continues into the next book.

I’ve read 6 books by Beyer.
