Nomadland<\/strong>, released in 2020<\/p>\n Fern lost her husband and her town. She is having a hard time finding a job aside from Amazon. She lives in her van, parked at an RV park. People are concerned about her, but she says she’s OK. It’s very cold, though, so she decides to head south — she finds a community of people all living in their vans or trailers, but they only meet up temporarily.<\/p>\n This movie looks very realistic — that’s because Frances McDormand actually lived as a nomad for a few months. McDormand is eminently watchable.<\/p>\n It’s about living simply, meeting astonishing people, and the beauty of nature.<\/p>\n Most of the nomads in the movie are played by actual nomads, and some of them didn’t realize McDormand was a Hollywood star.<\/p>\n Stars Frances McDormand and David Strathairn. Directed by Chlo\u00e9 Zhao (Eternals<\/strong>).
