The group known as the Circle tries to take over Bajor, but Odo discovers that they’re getting weapons from the Cardassians. When a Bajoran man with a Cardassian orphan shows up, Gul Dukat thinks the boy should be returned to Cardassia. An attack on Quark prompts Odo to recall a murder investigation from 5 years ago — when Kira was a suspect.

The discussion between Jaro and Winn is effectively sinister.

The complex nature of the relationships between the Bajorans, the Cardassians, the Federation, and the Maquis were hinted at in season 1 but are now on full display. We also meet the Jem’Hadar for the 1st time in the season finale, signalling that things are going to get serious.

The conversation between Garak and Quark is one of my favourites. It’s about fashion on the surface but they’re really talking about Cardassian politics and how Quark’s friend is in trouble.

My favourite non-speaking character is Morn. The funny thing is that when other characters mention him they say he’s very talkative, but we never see him say a word.

One more quotation: “‘He happens to be brilliant. His brain is twice the size of yours and mine.’ ‘I know, I’ve seen it.'” — Dax & Kira

In “Whispers” O’Brien finds everyone acting strangely after he returns from the Gamma quadrant. In “Shadowplay” Dax and Odo find a whole village of holographic people. In “Profit and Lace” some Cardassians show up who are wanted by Cardassian Central Command because of their political beliefs — and one of them is an old acquaintance of Quark’s. In the 2-part “The Maquis” Gul Dukat is kidnapped and Sisko finds out that the head of the Maquis is an old friend of his.

Guest stars include Frank Langella, Louise Fletcher, Marc Alaimo, and Andrew Robinson.

Jon Colicos, Michael Ansara, and William Campbell reprise their roles as Kor, Kang, and Koloth from TOS with gusto.

Stars Cirroc Lofton, Colm Meaney, and Armin Shimerman.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it.

I previously reviewed season 1.

{5/5} “‘You can fix computers?’ ‘I dabble with isolinear data subprocessors, it’s a hobby of mine.’” — Bashir & Garak Star Trek: Deep Space Nine season 2, aired in 1993-94 When Kira rescues the famous Li Nalas from a Cardassian prison camp the Bajoran government appoints him as their liaison to DS9 — and recalls […]

[10
5,8,59,11
post-19241","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-tv-shows","tag-review","tag-science-fiction","tag-star-trek","tag-tv-show
["GET
