Kirk and the Enterprise are using new technology to contain the results of a hypernova when they receive a distress signal from Tholians. They respond, but find all Tholians but one dead on the planet they encounter. They beam up with the last Tholian, a child. A Tholian ship enters orbit and starts making demands. Meanwhile, Kirk has been informed of his upcoming promotion to admiral &#8212; he&#8217;s just not sure who he&#8217;ll be if he&#8217;s not captain of the Enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a great story set during the 5th year of the 5-year mission, with a return to Sigma Iota II (from &#8220;A Piece of the Action&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s about protecting someone who might think they&#8217;re your enemy, democratic principles, and communicating with people who might be able to hear your thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>With recognizable characters and some beautiful panels, the artwork is some of the better <strong>Star Trek<\/strong> comic book artwork.
