Like this.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gypsies<\/strong> by Robert Charles Wilson, published in 1989<\/p>\n<p>Karen has been dreaming about the Gray Man. She&#8217;s seen him once or twice in real life and so has her son, Michael. When the Gray Man entices Michael to follow him after school, Karen says they&#8217;re going to visit her sister Laura in California. But Laura doesn&#8217;t exactly live in California &#8212; she lives in another world, one that&#8217;s a bit nicer.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s about people who have a special ability, people who are afraid of it, and people who want to use it.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not a typical Wilson story, but it&#8217;s worth reading.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve read 17 of Wilson&#8217;s books.
