The Water Man<\/strong>, released in 2020<\/p>\n Gunner’s mom has leukemia. He learns about the local myth of the Water Man, who might actually be real. A man tells him the story of how the Water Man drowned but came back to life, and how he can bring animals back to life. Gunner makes a deal with Jo, who’s seen the Water Man, to go into the forest to find him — he thinks he can help his mom.<\/p>\n It’s about friendship, and difficult feelings about your family.<\/p>\n The ending didn’t quite make sense*, but other than that I liked it a lot.<\/p>\n Stars Amiah Miller, Lonnie Chavis, Rosario Dawson, and Alfred Molina. Directed by David Oyelowo (his first movie as director).
