Black Adam<\/strong>, released in 2022<\/p>\n Kahndaq was a thriving country thousands of years ago, and now it’s been taken over by mercenaries. Adrianna finds the Crown of Sabbac, which has great power, hidden in a mountain. In order to get away from the mercenaries who will kill her, she summons a hero from long ago, who’s also hidden in the mountain — Teth-Adam. Some people, like Amanda Waller, see that Adam is back and believe that he needs to be taken down — so a team is sent in to do that.<\/p>\n Dwayne Johnson is, of course, built to play a superhero and does a fine job.<\/p>\n There are some fun moments — particularly from new team members Cyclone and Atom Smasher. There are even some great moments — particularly from Pierce Brosnan, who they had the foresight to cast as a superhero. There is a lot of fighting, blowing things up, slow motion, and nonsense.<\/p>\n It’s about people with powers, some old and some new, and some deciding whether or not to be a hero.<\/p>\n I really like some parts, and wish they had crafted a stronger story.<\/p>\n There is a mid-credits sequence.<\/p>\n Henry Winkler, Viola Davis, and Henry Cavill have small roles.<\/p>\n Stars Sarah Shahi, Aldis Hodge, and Quintessa Swindell. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise<\/strong><\/a>). The majestic music is by Lorne Balfe. I would have preferred fewer pop songs and more of Balfe’s music.<\/p>\n
