Even though she lives with her sister and brother-in-law, they get upset when she doesn&#8217;t pay the rent on time. Lucy is always ready to try something new, no matter how dangerous. She answers an ad for a well-paying job that has her serving drinks in lingerie. This job leads to an even more outrageous offer from her employer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sleeping Beauty<\/strong> was released in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t any version of the fairy tale &#8212; far from it. Like Tom Cruise&#8217;s character in <strong>Eyes Wide Shut<\/strong>, Lucy is drawn into a secret society in which\u00a0strange things are done behind closed doors.<\/p>\n<p>But even though we follow Lucy throughout the movie, she&#8217;s still a bit mysterious. I was confused about a few things, including the ending. It&#8217;s a bit surreal, in the way that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2012\/09\/melancholia\/\"><strong>Melancholia<\/strong><\/a> was.<\/p>\n<p>Emily Browning (<strong>Lemony Snicket&#8217;s A Series of Unfortunate Events<\/strong>) does a great job of inhabiting the role of Lucy. I hope that she is able to find a better movie in which to display her talents. Somehow I doubt that <strong>Sucker Punch<\/strong> is a better movie.<\/p>\n<p>The movie was directed by Julia Leigh (an author &#8212; this is the first movie she&#8217;s directed).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{3.5\/5} &#8220;Rise up and walk, none of your bones are broken.&#8221; Lucy is a university student &#8212; she works several jobs in order to pay tuition and rent.
