I have made fire!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cast Away<\/strong>, released in 2000<\/p>\n<p>Chuck works for FedEx, and goes to various offices to help them be more efficient &#8212; like in Russia. When he&#8217;s over the Pacific Ocean on Christmas, his plane goes down in a storm. He finds himself the only person on an island, and builds a sign that says &#8220;HELP&#8221; out of logs. He gradually becomes better at doings things like getting the milk out of a coconut, fishing, and starting a fire.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s the ultimate shipwrecked-on-a-deserted-island story.<\/p>\n<p>I like how he uses his knowledge to get himself off the island at the right time of year.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Hanks will make you believe you are there. The most astonishing behind-the-scenes fact is that production halted for a year while Hanks lost 50 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>Helen Hunt has a small but important role as Chuck&#8217;s girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Robert Zemeckis (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/back-to-the-future-part-iii\/\"><strong>Back to the Future Part III<\/strong><\/a>). There&#8217;s a very nice score by Alan Silvestri at the end &#8212; the rest of the movie plays with no music.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 2nd or 3rd time I&#8217;ve seen it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{5\/5} &#8220;Look what I have created!
