Cal is a well-known and well-liked newspaper reporter, and Della is a young reporter who writes a blog for the same paper. They’re thrown together on the story of a congressman caught in a scandal — the congressman, Stephen,\u00a0happens to be Cal’s college roommate. But there’s more going on than meets the eye — eventually they discover a connection to a\u00a0huge corporate conspiracy.<\/p>\n
State of Play<\/strong> was released in 2009.<\/p>\n If you somehow missed this movie when it came out, as I did, now is the time to watch it. Some aspects of the movie might seem familiar but they’re put together in a unique way.<\/p>\n Cal is a great character — he knows everyone and is willing to put himself in danger to get to the truth. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat.<\/p>\n The movie is based on the British TV series of the same name.<\/p>\n Russell Crowe (A Beautiful Mind<\/strong>) plays Cal and Rachel McAdams (Midnight in Paris<\/strong><\/a>) plays Della. Ben Affleck (Good Will Hunting<\/strong>) plays Stephen and Robin Wright (Forrest Gump<\/strong>)\u00a0plays his wife Ann.
