Borden and Angier are rival magicians. Angier’s wife Julia was killed when she couldn’t escape from a water tank fast enough. Angier blames Borden because he’s the one who tied the knot around Julia’s hands. When Borden does a bullet catch Angier, in disguise, shoots off the tops of two of his fingers. Angier acquires an apparatus from Tesla to use in one of his illusions — but it’s not a trick, it’s real.<\/p>\n

Even if you know what happens, you have to pay close attention — the story skips from past to present a lot.<\/p>\n

It’s about doing whatever it takes to be the best.<\/p>\n

Ricky Jay, Andy Serkis, and Daniel Davis have small roles.<\/p>\n

Stars Scarlett Johansson, Michael Caine, David Bowie, and Rebecca Hall. Directed by Christopher Nolan (Tenet<\/strong><\/a>). The atmospheric music is by David Julyan.<\/p>\n
