She had made a deal with grandmother years ago when grandmother needed money and Zemil needed a way into an old family. Zemil also sets her up with a job, and her first task is to find someone who went missing 200 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 5th book in the <strong>Imperial Radch<\/strong> universe, after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davidmswitzer.com\/blog\/2019\/07\/provenance\/\"><strong>Provenance<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s about what happens when you discover that you&#8217;re not human, and dealing with treaties with other species. It&#8217;s about people who want you to be yourself, and people who want you to be someone else because of your biology.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 6th book I&#8217;ve read by Leckie.
