At Thanksgiving Moishe and Shirley reveal they’re getting a divorce, and Joel reveals he’s getting married and having a baby. But when Joel gets home, Mei announces that’s not the life she wants — she’s moving to Chicago to become a doctor. Things keep going wrong for Abe and Rose — and then Rose realizes who’s at fault. Midge accepts a writing position on the late-night talk show — Susie assures her this will lead to the host realizing she’s a star.<\/p>\n

This is the last season.<\/p>\n

There are some startling flashforwards where Midge is famous, she is estranged from Susie, and Joel is in jail.<\/p>\n

Both the ending of the regular part of the show and the ending of the epilogue are beautiful.<\/p>\n
